Forex news, USDCHF. The Swiss are rightfully regarded as the most hard-working nation; this thesis is proved by the research of Conjuncture Research Center (KOF) in Zurich. Despite the fact that for the last 60 years working week has reduced by 8 hours (to 42 hours), and annual vacation has increased in 2-2.5 times (to 4-5 weeks), working part of Swiss population keeps complaining about exhaustion, depression, caused by high labour efficiency, and work tension.
In the 50-s of the previous century an average worker in Switzerland used to spend 2400 hours per year working. Today this figure has dropped to 1600. This became possible due to scientific-technological progress and work process automation, according to the authors of the research Michael Graf and Michael Siegenthaler.
It should be mentioned that the increase of labour efficiency has also become possible due to higher requirements to staff members and modifications of requirements to hired workers. Many labour contracts stipulate using personal time for managing some working tasks.
As calculated by the authors of the research, since 1970 annual increase of labour efficiency amounts to the average of 1.3%.
